Haemorrhoid Treatment
Haemorrhoid treatment
There are a number of causes of anal pain, lumps or bleeding. A common cause is haemorrhoids, sometimes called ‘piles’. These are lumps caused by irritation or swelling of normal structures in the anal canal.
If you have any of these symptoms organise an appointment with ESD.
If haemorrhoids are troublesome they can usually be treated with a simple procedure called rubber band ligation. This involves placing a rubber band around the base of the haemorrhoid which will then fall off over a few days. This treatment is usually only slightly uncomfortable. Haemorrhoids can recur despite successful treatment. Eating a high fibre diet is helpful for prevention.
